PARTNERING CHURCHES
Hey everyone…just so you know...and please don't tune out...but we NEED your Youth or Young Adult ministries to tithe to the Manitoba Northwestern Ontario Youth Department.
WHY?
Simply to make an investment in you without stripping resources from the events we facilitate. The priority of the Youth Department includes an intentional focus on leadership development.
WHY DOES THE YOUTH MINISTRY NEED MY HELP?
OUR CHURCH ALREADY TITHES TO THE DISTRICT.
The financial reality is that church tithes to the District pay, among other things, the salaries of the Youth Ministries staff, but do not cover costs incurred in travel, meetings and the continued development and training of youth leaders and ministries.
The burden to cover expenses incurred in leadership development therefore currently falls to our events. It is our hope that any monies raised through the operation of events could be funneled back into the events themselves.
HOW WILL THE MONEY BE USED?
Intentional investment in the development of leaders represents the focus of the Director’s portfolio. Greg travels throughout the district to meet with youth pastors/leaders, young adult pastors, and senior pastors as well. Greg plans at least one visit with every youth, and young adult pastor in our district for 2008.
He is currently developing a youth leadership development team. By investing in building a network of leaders our hope is that we elevate the effectiveness of student ministries across the District. We believe the Youth Ministries department exists to serve, support and encourage YOU.
To do this we need your help!
When we ask for you to partner with us, we are asking for you to partner with the work that Greg is doing. In a very real sense, our department must raise the funds to continue and further this work. We ask you to partner with Greg’s traveling expenses to meet with you and your peers in the ministry, and the development of leadership training materials and seminars that are currently being planned and developed. In order to do this we need to double the amount of money that is coming in from youth and young adult ministries. This may sound like a big deal but in reality only 10% of our churches contribute any money to the youth ministry department.
HOW DO I HELP?
Simply tithe from your youth/young adult ministry offerings or include us as you set your annual budget.
HOWEVER, before you begin we encourage you to have a conversation with your senior pastor about your involvement. Any monies can be directed to the District office care of "Youth Ministries": simply communicate them as your tithe.
